India Today magazine conducted its annual survey to select best colleges in India. Unfortunately very few Hyderabad colleges find place in the “best colleges rankings” when compared to states like Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Delhi. Only single college (Nalsar College in Law) from Andhra Pradesh finds place in the top 10 list. This survey reflects the poor educational standards that are prevailing in our Andhra educational institutions. We need quality but not quantity. Most of the global achievers from Andhra Pradesh are those who are studied in IITs and IIMs.     It is unfortunate to see that educational centres like Vijayawada, Guntur and Nellore have no college in the best colleges list in any department. Guntur Medical College and Vijayawada Loyola are once famous for their academic Excellence. When will we attain those standards? Top colleges in Andhra Pradesh: (All India ranks are in bracket) Law:  1. NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad: Only College from Andhra Pradesh which finds place in the top 10 list in any department. It is the best law college in India.2. Osmania Law College, Hyderabad (22).  3. Andhra University Law College, Visakhapatnam (22).  Engineering: Only 2 engineering colleges in top 25 list. 1. IIIT, Hyderabad (13).  2. JNTU, Hyderabad (24).  Best medical colleges: Only single medical college from Andhra is in the top 25 list whereas Delhi has 5 colleges while Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore have 3 colleges each. 1.
